About Us
Florida is home.
It is worth protecting.
A love of swamp country, a quieter way of living, and a wish to keep Florida’s wildlife territories intact.

A note from the owner
Raised around the swamps.

James Gatlin
I was raised around Florida’s swamp areas, and I enjoy country living. Florida is my home state, and my connection to its natural places is personal. The wetlands and open land are part of what I love about living here.
That is why I want to protect Florida from further damage to wildlife territories. I do not want the places that make this state feel like home to disappear beneath more clearing, roads, and development. Wildlife needs room to live, and those places deserve care before they are lost.
For me, country living is not just about having space around a house. It is about valuing the land around us and respecting the lives that share it. A swamp does not have to become something else to matter. It already has a place in Florida.
What I want for Florida
Room for wildlife.
A future for wild places.
I want Florida’s future to include the wetlands, woods, and open spaces that belong to its wildlife. Growth should come with care for what is already here, rather than treating natural land as something we can always replace.
Protecting these places is also about the Florida we leave to the people who come after us. They should have the chance to know a living landscape, not only hear about what used to be there.
Why Florida Eco Travel
A closer connection starts with care.
Florida Eco Travel is a way to share that love of home. Through stories about wildlife, wetlands, and the outdoors, I hope to help others see more of what makes Florida worth protecting.
You do not have to have grown up around a swamp to care about one. Whether Florida is your home or a place you are getting to know, there is value in slowing down, paying attention, and leaving room for the life around you.
